Flavours and Fillings

All of my cakes and fillings are made to order using the finest ingredients, including: -

  • Free Range Eggs, normally from our pet chickens in the garden!
  • Green and Blacks Organic Cocoa
  • Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract
  • Organic British Butter���������������
  • Fairtrade Unrefined Sugar

Vanilla Sponge Cake

A classic cake flavour, made using finest quality Vanilla Extract and filled with a choice of Jam or Buttercream (or both!!).

Vanilla Syrup Sponge Cake

A vanilla cake soaked with syrup, made with fresh vanilla beans, ensuring the cake stays deliciously moist.� This can be filled with Vanilla or Chocolate Buttercream and/or Jam.

Chocolate Sponge Cake

A variation on the above, flavoured with 100% Cocoa Powder and filled with Vanilla or Chocolate Buttercream.

Madeira Cake

A slightly heavier, denser cake (making it ideal for cutting shaped cakes), which can be flavoured with Vanilla, Chocolate or Lemon.

Devils Food Cake

A very rich and moist Chocolate Cake for that extra special occasion, made with 100% Cocoa Powder and filled with a choice of Apricot Jam or 70% Cocoa Chocolate Buttercream.

Lemon Cake

A zingy Lemon Cake, drizzled with lemon syrup keeping it lovely and moist and filled with Lemon Curd or Lemon Buttercream.

Rich Dark Fruit Cake

My own recipe very rich, dark and moist fruit cake, made several months in advance and steeped in brandy.

Light Fruit Cake

A lighter fruit cake, made with fruits, nuts and saffron and drizzled with a honey and brandy syrup.

Additional Information about the cakes

  • The sponge cakes do not contain nuts but there may be nut traces present.
  • The cakes are not gluten or dairy free.
  • The fruit cakes contain alcohol and nuts.
  • Not all flavours of cake can be used for every design (For example, Devils Food Cake is not suitable for complex shaped cakes).
  • I have gluten free and dairy free recipes available upon request.
